A community group ‘Chase the Rainbow Blantyre’ has been set up on Facebook for the children of Blantyre.
The group started for the children to draw rainbows for their windows to make people smile on their daily exercise and it grew from there.
The main purpose of the group is to share educational and fun ideas and activities to keep the children amused. It is also to keep the children connected to their peers.
They run friendly competitions to keep the children involved and motivated and are trying to get a birthday gift to all children celebrating their big day in lockdown.
Their latest project is for the children to nominate an NHS Hero of Blantyre and with the help of spar Blantyre have a special surprise planned for their the nominees next week.
A spokesperson told us, “We would like to thank everyone who has donated to our page to keep the children of Blantyre smiling.”
