The scouts of 3rd Blantyre scout group have been showing scouting doesn’t have to stop, even in these current challenging conditions.
Since lockdown started, all the members of the group, beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers have been participating in a “virtual programme” of fun and educational activities.
Last week they ” hiked to the moon” as part of a national activity and each week the group’s leadership team have been sending practical tasks to the scouts to ensure that they can continue their scouting activities.
This weekend the group held its first “virtual camp” with all members still under their own lockdown of course! Everybody rose to all the challenges set! The participants camped, cooked outside, hiked, “zoomed”, broke free from escape rooms, completed scavenger hunts and solved codes – all whilst maintaining social distancing. It was a great example of what can be achieved by working together in challenging circumstances.
Well done everybody! Recognise anybody?
