A Blantyre family has been left shocked this week after discovering £700 of black granite edging has been stolen from around their parents grave in Priestfield Cemetery.
The discovery was made last weekend, around the same time as other thefts and damage had taken place, leaving them shocked and angry. It us unfathomable that people can do this to others, whilst they’re grieving or even contemplate to steal anything in a cemetery.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened in June. Other items have gone missing. In addition, the entrance was looking very untidy last week with somebody deciding to use the small cemetery bins to tip their household rubbish in, despite the tip being adjacent!! The mess has subsequently been reported for clearing up.
Disgusting!
