We have a message from the Dunsmuir Family releasing details about the funeral of Hugh Dunsmuir. Message reads,
“Our entire family just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for all of your kind comments on the post shared by Blantyre Telegraph about the passing of our Hugh Dunsmuir. “
“We would also like to extend our thanks for all of the cards, thoughts, and support from our all of the friends and family who have reached out to us. We can’t begin to let you know how grateful we are. We knew he was well known & liked from his work in the community, but were honestly taken aback by how many peoples lives he’d touched.
He will be sadly missed by us, and by a lot of other people, and we take comfort knowing just how much of an impact he had on the local community and the lives of those in and around it. The Dunsmuir Family”
Hugh’s funeral will be on Monday 26th October at 10.30am. While it’ll be at South Lanarkshire Crematorium, the family are restricted to 20 people due to current restrictions, so this means only very close family and friends will be able attend personally.
We know a lot of people will want to participate and pay their respects though, so people are more than welcome to come see Hugh off from outside his house at around 10am, or at the Blantyre Miners Welfare on Calder Street, around 10.10am passing on the way to the Crematorium.
