Remembering John McKeen

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Blantyre man John McKeen.

John (73) passed away suddenly but peacefully at Hairmyers Hospital on Tuesday, 17th November 2020.

He was a well known local man who lived all his life in Blantyre, and his passing will come as a shock to everyone who knew him.

John will be resting at the Blantyre co-op on Glasgow Road from midday Friday, 27th November and all day Monday 30th. The family wish to extend an opportunity for family and friends to pay their last respects on these dates, but due to current COVID restrictions, you will need to call the co-op in advance.

The funeral service will take place on Tuesday 1st December at 10:15am, and will be held within the parlour of the Blantyre Co-op. Unfortunately, due to restrictions, the service can only be attended by immediate family members.

The hearse will leave to Co-op shortly after the service, and will travel along Glasgow Road towards the West end. It will turn up onto Bardykes Road, with a short detour into Herbertson Grove and passing by the family home, then on to Priestfield cemetery for around 11am. The family would like to thanks everyone for their kindness, flowers, card, and messages at this sad time.

Our sympathies go out to all John’s family and friends at this sad time.
Rest in Peace John.
