There’s probably no more despicable crime than breaking into a church with intent to steal or vandalise, but unfortunately that happened in Blantyre last night.
During the early hours of Saturday 28th November 2020, intruders at Broompark Road broke into St John Ogilvie Church and caused damage.
Though there was nothing of value to take, unfortunately the statue of St Anthony was toppled and destroyed. Do you know more? You can report to Police on 101.
The Church will be open for Mass this evening as normal.
