We have great news for the communities of Hamilton and Blantyre!
Beat the street game is coming and it’s free to play.
The game has been such a success across East Kilbride, Rutherglen and Lanark to name but a few and now its time for our area.
So what’s it all about? Beat the street aims to get communities active by playing a points based game, play as an individual or as part of a team!
Simply collect the materials needed (a map, covid guidelines sheet, card) from one of the distribution points, register online and start playing!
You can walk, run, cycle, roll or scoot around the towns to collect your points as part of your daily exercise and there will be individual prizes throughout including prizes for those in the first 3 places of the leaderboards at the end of the 6 week game period.
The distribution points will be posted on this website closer to the game start date;
The game is covid safe so we encourage players to follow government guidelines whilst playing. You can still play as part of a team though, as long as you link your card to that team when registering. This means you can walk with your own family/bubble whilst still collecting points for your team!
If you/ your workplace/community or organisation would like to get involved in playing ‘Beat the Street’ or have any further questions, please get in touch with Megan (details below). Have fun!!!
Also if you would like to create a team (which players can join when they register) please send me the following info;
