MSP Monica Lennon has been nominated for ‘Scotswoman of the Year 2020’
The politician who was brought up in Blantyre was recognised for her leading role in the Period Products Act which was passed in Scottish Parliament last year. The Bill was supported by all parties, Monica has served as an MSP for the Central Scotland region since 2016.
Monica is certainly in good company with other nominees including supermodel Eunice Olumide who successfully campaigned in support of the Black Lives Matter movement; Disability Equality Scotland’s Linda Bamford; and Jill Belch who led the Masks for Scotland campaign.
The results and winner will be celebrated in an online (virtual) event on Thursday 29th April 2021. In the meantime, Monica is standing for the seat of Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse in the upcoming Holyrood elections in May.
