Enabling works have commenced in Westcraigs, High Blantyre to get the area ready for Ultra Fast Broadband.
Works by BT Openreach started today, 16th September 2021 at Sandhead Terrace and Huntly Gardens at the southernmost point of Westcraigs which will see residents soon able to access super fast speeds. This particular work will last 3 days and should not be disruptive to nearby residents.
Sky have recently launched their Ultra Fast Service which depending upon package and availability sees speeds of between 150mb/s and 500mb/s being reached. Speeds considerably faster than the average service current fibre offers the area. The news may be welcome for families who use multiple devices, gamers and those people now accustomed to streaming services like Netflix.
Further rollout and expansion of this infrastructure is planned in this and other areas of Blantyre in due course.
