Trees Trimmed Back

If you’ve been driving at night this week, you’ll have noticed roadworks on the A725 East Kilbride Expressway with lane closure for necessary work to the verges.

The air has been filled with the smell of bark chippings and cut wood as the roads authorities cut back overhanging trees and bushes close to the sliproads. Work has taken place at the High Blantyre sliproads near Crossbasket and Douglas Street, as well as sliproads at Glasgow Road, Whistleberry Road and the Auchinraith Roundabout at Main Street.

Trees have been clipped back quite severely, improving line of sight and visibility in the interests of safety.
