It is with sadness we learned recently of the sudden passing of beautiful Gemma Caffrey, a S2 pupil of Calderside Academy, Blantyre.
Gemma slipped away following a brain haemorrhage last Monday, 25th October 2021.
Social media has seen an outpouring of tributes and messages of love and support as a shocked community comes to terms with the tragedy of the youngster.
Calderside Academy head teacher, Mr Dodds, described twelve year old Gemma as “lovely, kind and thoughtful”. She was a hard-working, respectful pupil, who enjoyed school life with her group of close friends. Gemma’s passing has had a profound effect on the school community and has created a great sense of loss.”
“She will always have a place in the hearts of the staff and pupils who knew her. She will be sorely missed.”
Blantyre Telegraph sends sincere sympathies to Gemma’s parents Graeme and Alison, of Hamilton and indeed to all her heartbroken family and friends at this sad and difficult time, offering our full support.
Fly with the angels, Gemma. Rest in Peace.
