Platinum Jubilee

Today, Sunday 6th February 2022, marks the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with an incredible 70 years spent on the throne.

The Queen (95) is the first ever British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee and during this time she has overseen 14 prime ministers, starting with Winston Churchill. The Queen’s reign began when she was just 25 years old, following the death of her father, George VI, on 6 February 1952.

She is spending her day privately on the Sandringham estate, with national celebrations to be held in June, which will see the British Public be given an extra days holiday.
