A Planning application has been submitted to South Lanarkshire Council to significantly develop part of the former Bardykes Bing at Spittal on the boundary between Halfway and Blantyre.
The large area of land, east of Manse Brae and to the west of Priory Bridge is proposed for mixed-use development comprising commerical, leisure, and tourism uses with associated works under planning notice P/22/0004/PAN.
An application was submitted at the end of April 2022. The application for land situated opposite Spittal Farm, to the north of the A724 Hamilton Road makes reference to an electric moto park, karting track and associated facilities, which would undoubtably bring jobs to the area.
A public consultation is planned for the coming weeks before any planning decisions are made.
