Our May & June Fundraising

The totals are in for May and June fundraising here at Blantyre Telegraph and what an REMARKABLE 2 months! As always, it’s YOU who’s made it happen. We’re delighted to announce a very decent £695 was raised for local good causes!

Added to our overall fundraising total to date, it means Blantyre Telegraph (and its readers) have now raised a whopping £47,367 since the page started in 2011!

£455 was raised by the kind members of our supporters group, £70 in very kind private donations and £167 in book sales.

Several excellent donations were therefore possible BACK to local good causes. £70 was donated for P7 leavers to celebrate their last day in school. £100 was donated to Blantyre woman Mari Gray to forward on a Ukrainian Family of Refugees, £80 was given to Natalie Campbell in the form of sweets and toys for her 2 children who recently had a tough time. £200 was donated to the High Blantyre Baptist Church given to Rev Steve Younger, £200 went to the British Heart Foundation (a charity now close to our heart…literally, following our recent triple hard bypass!), £30 was given in flowers to a local lady who recently tripped and £15 was given to local gentleman as book to read to help his recovery.

As always, not one penny is retained by us! All awards were notified at the time on our Supporters Group page. Our website has been updated with donation and award records, in the interests of full transparency here. https://theblantyretelegraph.com/raised/

As Blantyre Telegraph grows from strength to strength, we thank you for your continued interest and overwhelming support, making this possible. In July 22, part of the Supporters Subscriptions will be going to the Amanda Coulter to help fund a High Blantyre summer street party, with the remainder TBC at time of award.
