Well this is a new low! In the very week which Blantyre was to be judged on how beautiful it looks, somebody has dumped nearly a dozen barrels at the Industrial Housing Estate.
The pictures were posted over on our Live Chat Group page earlier this evening and are being escalated here to the main page given the potentially seriousness nature. The barrels are marked TOXIC and appear to be in a place where children often play.
They’re located at Ballantrae Road, Blantyre Industrial Estate G72 near the Lock ups beside the burn and play area. This has been reported in already, but a warning goes out to stay clear of them until they’re uplifted.
We cant believe these have been fly tipped so blatantly. If somebody left them there deliberately intending to use them for something else, e.g storage for something or building a raft etc, then please let us know in the comments below.
