Westend Bar owners Jamie and Jon McDowall have recently added another pub to their endeavours.
They took possession of the Cosy Corner Pub, Mill Road, Hamilton on Monday, 8th August 22 and already have been busy stripping it out, renovating the venue to their high standards. It’s their third venture at present, their second Hamilton Pub as they already run ‘The Windsor’ too.
Co Owner Jamie told us, “We’re planning on it being a mirror imagine of The West End Bar, in terms of decor, furniture etc. We have a brand new beer system going in, along with a large selection of spirits wine and cocktails.”
“We’re also planning a new beer garden which will come over the next few months. People will notice the sign is down, we’re getting new signage made outside which will be done this week coming.”
Jamie continued, “At first we will not be doing food, but we do intend to get that side of the business up and running in due course. We’ve got a new pool table, juke box and 2 puggys being delivered next week. We’ve employed 5 new local members of staff, no previous staff have been taken over. Sky & BT sports will be installed in the coming week in time for reopening with all the sports and racing.”
The Cosy Corner has already arranged for live entertainment every Friday from 8pm and Saturday from 8:30pm with a mix of live singers & karaoke. The carpark is going to have new tar as it’s very bad with potholes and needs done for the new beer garden area.
Here’s wishing the lads all the very best.
The opening day is 11am on Friday 16th September, a week ahead of the original schedule.
