There was sad news in the community this week, after news arrived of the passing of local woman, Violet “Vi” Crossar (nee Jones).
Vi sadly passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday 7th September 2022. She was 78.
Many people will have known Violet who worked as a cleaner in Blantyre Sports Centre, something she did since it first opened its doors over 40 years ago. She was well known throughout Blantyre and couldn’t walk up the street without stopping to talk to someone! She’ll be sadly missed by her family, friends, and everyone who knew her.
Funeral details are known. The funeral service will take place at Blantyre Old Parish Church on Tuesday 20th September 2022 at 11:30am, thereafter to Blantyre Old Cemetery. All welcome.
