What’s still open on Monday?

With Monday a Bank holiday for the Queens Funeral, it’s a National holiday meaning there’s not going to be many places open. People should plan ahead if you plan on being out and about. Many visitor attractions and heritage sites will be closed on Monday and visitors are advised to check before travelling.

Most of the shops will be closed including Asda, Morrisons and Tesco.

The Royal Mail will suspended its postal services on the day.

Trains will be running as normal across Scotland, as will Edinburgh Trams.

Bus companies may be running to a different timetable

National Galleries Scotland, Historic Scotland and National Museums Scotland are among those that have announced that all their sites will shut to mark the funeral. National Trust for Scotland buildings and gardens will be closed all day but countryside locations will remain open to visitors.

Some theatres and cinemas will be closed. Edinburgh Playhouse and Capital Theatres will shut, but Pitlochry Festival Theatre will remain open.  Cineworld, Empire, Odeon, Showcase and Cameo cinemas will be closed.

Bank holiday DIY enthusiasts will have to buy their supplies in advance if they plan to stock up at one of the bigger chain stores with B&Q and Homebase saying they will be closed.

If you know of other places which will be open or want to notify their Monday closure, please let us know below in the comments.
