South Lanarkshire School holidays for 2023/24 have now been approved by local councillors.
At the Education Resources Committee meeting earlier this week, elected members confirmed dates for school holidays and in-service days for the next school year.
2023
Teachers will return from Summer on Monday, 14th August 2023. That day and the following on Tuesday, 15th August will be in-service days, with pupils returning to school on Wednesday, 15th August 23.
The September weekend will run from Friday to Monday, September 22nd to 25th.
The mid term October break will be from Monday to Friday, October 16th to 20th, with pupils returning to school on Monday, October 23rd. There will be an in-service day on Monday, November 13th.
Schools will close at 2.30pm on Friday, December 22nd for Christmas, and reopen on Monday, January 8th, 2024. The February break will be on Monday and Tuesday, February 12th and 13th, and an in-service day will be held on Wednesday, February 14th.
Schools will close at 2.30pm on Thursday, March 28th, 2024, for spring break and reopen on Monday, April 15th, 2024, .
There will be an in-service day on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, and May Day is on Monday 6th.
A local holiday will be held on Friday and Monday, May 24th and 27th, 2024. Lanark schools will close on Thursday and Friday, June 6th and 7th, 2024.
Schools will close at 1pm on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, for the summer break.
