We’re partnering with local business, Glen Travel to bring Santa to Blantyre on Saturday 17th December! kids are going to LOVE this!
The annual Blantyre Toy Drive is underway and we hope many, many local children come along to Glen Travel to meet Santa and receive a beautiful, gift. Entry is free, but you can of course make a little donation at the door if you visit.
Donations have been coming in from local individuals throughout November and December, with many toys also directly handed in, promising to make the day a BIG success! This is a huge undertaking, to bring a quality free gift to as many Blantyre children as possible! Things are difficult for most families just now, so it’s as important as ever to reach out to everybody within the community.
We’re hoping to light up loads of little festive faces (from babies to age 12) and hope YOU can help either by buying a small toy or making a small financial donation.
There are 4 different ways YOU can directly help! >>>>
- Businesses or individuals can make a financial contribution of ANY amount you choose by Paypal or card here: https://theblantyretelegraph.com/campaigns/blantyre-toy-drive2022/
- or why not Subscribe to become a Blantyre Telegraph Supporter for only £1.79 which will unlock loads of extra news AND with full subscriptions going to the Toy Drive next month. Subscribe here: https://www.facebook.com/271133402907727/support/
- or why not directly hand a new toy into Glen Travel’s shop on Glasgow Road, Blantyre. Toys should be unwrapped, brand new and to the value of £5 or so. Also saves us a trip to the shops!
- Can your organisation help in any way to make the event more successful? Volunteers? Donating something or a service perhaps? Perhaps help us decorate the grotto?
Our campaign runs right up until the day before, ending on Friday 16th December. Those who took part in previous years, you will know what a highlight this is for local children in such difficult economic times. Please join us by helping to give something back to the children of Blantyre. Thanks.
