Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Blantyre man John Paul McGinty, who sadly passed away yesterday following a vehicle accident.
Tributes have been paid to the popular, much loved man who died after a collision with three cars in East Kilbride. John Paul McGinty, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene on the A726 around 6.30pm on Wednesday, 7th December.
Police closed the road for 6 hours after the fatal collision, which involved a black Citroen Berlingo van, a silver Seat Leon car and a white Vauxhall Crossland car. No one from any of the other vehicles was injured.
John Paul, also known as Jai was described as “one in a million” by loved ones. Our thoughts are with them at this sad and difficult time.
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder, of the Road Policing Unit, in Motherwell said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances which led to this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to get in touch. We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.”
