Scottish Government have announced that the official guidance on wearing face masks in healthcare settings is set to end.
The guidance rules for hospital, medical centres and dentists was first brought in during the pandemic in June 2020 and will official be withdrawn next week, on May 16, 2023.
The latest easing of guidance comes less than 2 weeks after the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the Covid-19 pandemic was no longer a global health emergency.
The announcement has marked a symbolic end to the devastating pandemic that triggered once-unthinkable lockdowns, upended economies worldwide and killed at least seven million people worldwide.
