Bad Parking Fines

Drivers should beware that from Monday, 11th December, councils across Scotland can begin enforcing law on bad parking behaviours.

Fines of £100 can be imposed for parking up on and obstructing pavements, double parking and parking at drop kerbs.

Certain exceptions exist designated by some councils. The fines will be reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days and passed to collection agencies if not paid in time.

With a growing intolerance towards vehicles which park up on the pavement, a campaign to highlight the dangers and obstruction this causes had been launched earlier in the year.
