January Weather Forecast

It’s been threatening for a while, but things are now lining up for a prolonged cold spell in Scotland in the coming weeks and now….. seems to be the time to get ready.

Temperatures will fall away sharply the rest of this week, to zero degrees by the weekend. Next week looks particularly cold with minus or freezing temperatures during the daytime for the whole week. It’ll be sunny however, dry and clear due to a lingering ridge of high pressure.

You may want to stock up on salt/grit for your paths, protect any outdoor taps or pipework and look out your scarf and gloves. However, it appears you won’t need a snow shovel just yet!

This cold weather snap, according to the Met Office is set to last for most of January.
