For Jessie Lou Harvie

A fabulous concert is arranged in Blantyre for Friday 30th August 2024 to raise funds for a wonderful, brave local girl!

Jessie-Lou Harvie is well known in Blantyre having performed on stage from an infant. The talented thirteen year old has had no end of success and gone from singing at Blantyre Galas and events, to recording her own single and for the previous year, playing a lead part in a West End Musical. However, Jessie-Lou has sadly been very ill in recent times.

Until recently, she had been feeling fine and on the back of West End Success, she had been invited along to Britains Got Taken in February this year. However, the following morning after her audition she woke up to find she had no feeling from her chest down. She was brought home and taken to her local hospital but quickly transferred to the QEH in Glasgow where she spent the next eleven weeks undergoing various tests and treatments and she was eventually diagnosed with “Transverse Myelitis”.

She was then transferred to Stoke Mendeville hospital outside London who specialise with people with this type of condition and she spent a further seven weeks undergoing treatment to help improve her condition. She has improved a great deal but has to have physiotherapy for the foreseeable future with further regular visits to Stoke Mandeville for treatment and checkups.

Jessie-Lou’s kindness is well known. This remarkable young girl has helped raise thousands of pounds, singing for various charities, so her singing coach and fellow students kindly created a fundraise to help the family with out of pocket expenses now and in the future.
