The National Autistic Society’s South Lanarkshire Branch is a group of local volunteers who, since 2009 have been running activities to support autistic people and their families. Despite the current funding challenges facing many charities and community groups, they have organised several activities throughout the coming months in Blantyre and along the 267 bus route.
Arts and Craft Group
Their Art and Craft Group meets monthly on the 2nd Saturday of the month at Rutherglen United Reformed Church on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 1pm until 2.30pm and also online on the last Thursday of the month at 4.30 until 5.45pm
They have organized a special drop in African Arts and Craft Session as well at the David Livingstone Birthplace on 6 July from 2pm until 4.30pm.
Parent and Carer Zoom
The Parent and Carer Group meets on zoom at 7.30 on the last Tuesday of the month and offers a space for sharing experiences and accessing peer support
Walking Group
A Walking Group meets from March to October at Bothwell Road Park War Memorial on the 1st Saturday of the month at 11am . They go for a local walk lasting about 40 minutes and then coffee afterwards.
Pizza Making
SDA Blantyre are hosting a Pizza Making Workshop at 2pm on the 11th and 18th of August. Spaces are limited but you can book on by completing this Microsoft Form Pizza Making (office.com)
Collecting Cans
They need to raise £3000 each year to carry out necessary work. One of the simplist ways you can contribute to this is by placing a collecting tin in your shop. If you are able to help with this please complete the form below Collection Tin Request (office.com)
