The finishing touches are being added this week to the beautifully renovated Barnhill Tavern on Bardykes Road, with a grand opening imminent!
The exterior signage and lighting is up, masonry cleaned and painters work done. Contractors are now putting the last decorative touches on the inside and outside of the building and the roadworks due to be removed.
This is Blantyre’s oldest AND newest pub, thanks to an incredible makeover by owners, the Carrigan family. A traditional, cosy public house which we’re sure will be much loved and popular.
So, the big question? When is the opening?
We can reveal the Barnhill Tavern will open to the public on Monday 1st July 2024 at 12 midday. This follows some private, soft launch evenings commencing tomorrow.
Speaking to Blantyre Telegraph this evening, Barry Carrigan told us, “We’re all really looking forward to seeing the latest addition to Blantyre opening. We hope you all get a chance to enjoy our beautiful pub soon and continue to support your locals”
People are going to be bowled over by the changes. A larger bar and customer areas, larger footprint inside the pub and notable transformations in the outdoor space.
Thank you to the Carrigan family for giving Telegraph exclusive news and updates these last few months and for our various meetings about their exciting plans. We wish them and their dedicated, hard working staff the very best of success and good luck for this week.
We’ll have some inside photos and further opening news for you this week!
