An update on the fantastic, special initiative to feed kids in Blantyre over the Summer school holiday break!
Agnews Family Shopper and Billy’s Cafe on Glasgow Road, Blantyre have been offering a warm and inviting sanctuary for children to enjoy a complimentary hot meal and drink at their food to go or café.
Their aim is to provide a comforting environment and a delicious meal for kids during the summer holiday and it’s been a tremendous success so far.
To make this experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible, all children need to do is mention “Auntie Tricia” upon arrival, and the attentive staff will know to provide them with a hot meal, no questions asked.
Owner David Agnew told Blantyre Telegraph today, “That’s us just over 3 weeks and to date we have given out 130 free meals for the kids. It’s fantastic that the kids are getting hot food over the school holidays but still heart breaking that poverty is still present in Blantyre and surrounding areas.”
David continued, “We understand that the holidays can be a challenging time for some families, and we’re committed to providing a helping hand and a warm meal for those in need. At Agnews Family Shopper and Billy’s Cafe,we believe in the importance of community.”
“Our doors are open to all children who may benefit from a comforting meal and a friendly atmosphere. We want to ensure that every child feels welcomed and cared for, regardless of their circumstances.”
We invite you to spread the word about this special offer and encourage families in need to take advantage of this generous opportunity. Well done to David and all his staff for this brilliant initiative.
