Sometimes we all just need to stop for a moment and think what others are going through.
We’ve got a message from the family of local woman Sandra McGuigan. Many people will know Sandra as the local lollipop lady and also Hall Keeper at the June Stewart Hall in High Blantyre. Sadly her beloved dog of 14 years was yesterday attacked by a neighbouring dog and tragically died. An event which has left Sandra devastated.
Poppy was well known and loved by all of the community as she went to work with Sandra to her lollipop crossing and the Hall. Safe to say she was a well known pet!
Sandra’s daughter Vikki told Telegraph, “Everyone knows and has such fond affection for Poppy. Even children that are frightened off dogs, took instant affection to our Poppy. She never left mum’s side. I would be forever grateful if you could share. Seeing a local community tribute for our much loved Poppy and what she meant to mum and our family.”
Sadly, we’ve had a few messages in recent weeks about dangerous dogs attacking other smaller dogs, leaving them injured or worse in the Blantyre area. That aside, we were SO sorry to read this message today and sure all our readers will join us in the comments as we tell Sandra we’e thinking about her.
