By far the BEST news we heard this week was the wonderful “Bonnie Blantyre’ organisation taking a GOLD award from Keep Scotland Beautiful….for all their amazing efforts in keeping Blantyre looking great!
Earlier in the week at the Keep Scotland Beautiful awards ceremony in Aberdeen, Bonnie Blantyre were absolutely thrilled to pick up their gold achievement, recognising all the efforts they’ve made in the community during this past year. As if that wasn’t amazing enough, they also won the, ‘young people’, discretionary award.
The competition was extremely tough, as the standards around the country in this competition are exceptionally high. We’re sure you’ll agree all the planters in so many places around the town have been looking amazing this year, brightening up the whole town for all residents. We know how much work goes on behind the scenes to plan, organise, deliver and maintain all these horticultural adornments and it is fantastic to see the group becoming more established and recognised with “growing” success.
There’s SO much more to what Bonnie Blantyre is achieving in the community.
In a statement, Susan Lindner-Kelly from Bonnie Blantyre said, “Huge thanks to each and every person who works with us to make Blantyre as Bonnie as it can be. From our pals at the Council, to the local businesses and individuals who do all that they can to support us. You’ve no idea the difference you all make. We’d literally be lost without you Special thanks to Grumble Bee/Mam, Alex, Jean, John, Cara, Rena, Pat and Mary. You guys are something else!”
We’d like of course to say thanks to Susan herself for all her efforts. Susan is often behind the camera, rather than in front, but her efforts in all this group does should be recognised by everybody. Well done to her and to everybody else involved! Simply FAB!
