Big Shoutout tonight to local woman , Lainey Baillie who went back down the Calder this week after spotting loads of discarded broken bottles.
As well as being unsightly, the mess also posed a danger for dogs being walked and local wildlife. Lainey carefully cleared up the broken glass and disposed of everything properly. It’s brilliant to see people caring about the environment and our local beauty spots. As for the person who discarded the glass bottles in the first place, how difficult would it have been to empty them into SO many available glass bins, but instead take them to the calder to throw into woodland!….. shame on you!
