Changing Face of Hamilton

Things seem to be changing rapidly at our neighbouring town of Hamilton. Fresh on the heels of announcements about the town centre changing, the demolition of the Council’s Montrose House is almost complete.

As this photo by Iain Douglas shows, there’s very little left of the building.

Local diversions are in place, and pedestrians should be unaffected on Almada Street with cars not affected. Six key sites will be transformed in Hamilton by mixed-use developments and funded with a mixture of private and public investment.

Meanwhile, Regent Street shopping centre will be demolished to create a mixed-use development with housing at the forefront.
