Aftermath and a Chilly Day

Storm Darragh has now passed, but Scotland didn’t escape the high winds. It brought damage and disruption to some parts of Scotland especially in the south.

The amber warning for wind covered part of Dumfries and Galloway, after fears there could be damage to buildings and homes.

Strong winds tore a large section of the roof off Castle Douglas High School, landing partially on another part of the school, as pictured. Dumfries and Galloway Council said an inspection of the damage had taken place and that the debris would be cleaned up on Sunday once the high winds had passed.

Here in Lanarkshire, the rain has eased up and should for most be a dry day, with the winds easing too. It will be notably chilly with northerly winds, a theme for good part of the week. Turning colder.
