Lanarkshire Freemasons held their annual Christmas Carol Service at High Blantyre on Sunday 8th December 2024 and there was a surprise in store for a well known local volunteer group.
It was a fantastic turnout of friends, family and Brethern at Blantyre Old Parish Church where once again the generosity was unbelievable with loads of presents supplied for those kids who would otherwise not have a Christmas. A lovely and very humorous but sincere service was delivered the Rev Bro. Jim
Midway though the service RWPGM Andrew D. Millar was called forward to present Bonnie Blantyre with the Provincial Grand Lodge inaugural Community Champion’s Award for their valued work in the community, RWPGM also made a further donation to the charity of £500 along with £250 to Rev. Jim Murphy for the upcoming choir evening in aid of the Lanarkshire Beatson Cancer Charity.
It was a much appreciated surprise for the volunteers of Bonnie Blantyre, as their Christmas campaign was given a boost, recognising their hard work this past year.
Another fantastic evening to which the Lanarkshire Freemasons Orders are deeply indebted to the generosity of the members of Lanarkshire for again truly “Making the Diffrence.
Following the service everyone joined in the Church hall in large numbers for cup of tea, sandwiches and cake. The Lanarkshire Freemasony Orders would like to thank Blantyre Kilwinning No. 557, Rev Bro Jim Murphy and the Kirk session of Blantyre Old Parish Church for their hospitality and welcome .
