Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations have been called off due to concerns about “extreme weather.” Organizers announced that strong winds have necessitated the cancellation of all events scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, including a concert by the rock band Texas in Princes Street Gardens.
The city’s iconic street party and fireworks display have also been canceled for public safety, following yellow weather warnings for wind and rain issued by the Met Office for Tuesday.
