At time of writing this lunchtime on New Year’s Day, its snowing in Blantyre, but its not going to come to much. The early afternoon will be cloudy with patchy rain and hill sleet with snow confined to only high ground. Turning drier later in the afternoon with some late brightness developing. Colder.
Be careful though on the M8 and M74, as snow is affecting some high points on the motorways.

Tonight will be dry with clear skies throughout. It will be a cold and icy night with a gentle north-westerly breeze.
Thursday
Tomorrow will be a bright and chilly day. It will remain dry throughout the day and there will be plenty of winter sunshine.
