Heavy Snow Forecast in Central Scotland

Winter will most definitely be here tomorrow as some fairly heavy snow showers are expected in Lanarkshire and Central Scotland.

Meantime today, any remaining showers will die out this afternoon, leaving variable cloud and some brighter intervals in between. Staying cold. Clouding over by evening.

Tonight will become overcast and windy with the snow developing in the early hours of the morning. The snow will be increasingly heavy as dawn approaches with a Sunday morning set to look like a winter wonderland! Drifting snow in higher areas will be associated as winds also strengthen.

Sunday

Tomorrow, skies will remain overcast with breezy conditions and heavy, drifting snow persisting through most of the day. The snow will change to sleet at lower levels with the risk of freezing rain.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday

Some snow showers still expected if you’re returning to work on Monday. That morning will see fairly cloudy skies with wintry showers moving in. It will be turning brighter in the afternoon with sunny spells developing. Windy. Brighter on Tuesday but a few patches of cloud are expected to drift in, again bringing a chance of the odd wintry shower. Wednesday will see dry conditions and plenty of wintry sunshine. Temperatures are down to minus 7 or so throughout the night next week.
