Objects which are being blown around in the wind are unfortunately also causing indirect damage.
A good example of this was a big, red bin from the charity shop on Glasgow Road, Blantyre which blew across the road around 11:30am this morning. The bin blew with extreme force right into the side of this car, severely damaging it. No one’s been near the vehicle, so if anyone knows who it belongs to….. that’s what happened with no other vehicles involved.
A local resident James told us, “We locked all the bins behind the fence and have padlocked the fence between house of Ck and charity shop.”
It’s a reminder there is danger still to be out and about during the red weather warning.
