The National Autistic Society is facing funding cuts which directly affects activities in this area.
The society had recently had a day out to the David Livingstone Birthplace and 2 Pizza Making workshops at ASDA. There are also support groups in Hamilton (walking) and Rutherglen (arts and crafts) both a short bus journey away.
Andrew Crosbie, Chairperson of the local NAS branch told Blantyre Telegraph, “We are facing significant changes to our funding which will have an impact on our future service provision to autistic people and their families.”
“All of this is at risk if this goes ahead so it is really important we all make our voices heard and support this by signing the petition. We are due to meet with representatives from our HQ next week to discuss further.”
