Demolition of Jimmy Savile’s Cottage Begins

In news from wider afield, was good to see this finally happening! Demolition has commenced on a former Highland cottage once owned by Jimmy Savile.

Savile, later unmasked as one of Britain’s most notorious sex offenders, owned Allt-na-Reigh cottage in Glen Coe from 1998 until his death in 2011.

Situated along the A82, the property has been repeatedly vandalised since revelations of his crimes emerged and suffered further damage in a fire last month.

The current owner has secured planning permission to demolish the single-storey building and replace it with a new four-bedroom, one-and-a-half-storey house.
