Morrisons Supermarket are tightening their budgets and are closing 52 venues throughout the UK, including 14 outlets in Scotland.
Two cafe closures are in East Kilbride at Lindsayfield and Stewartfield, though the rest of the stores there will remain open.
Chief Executive of Morrisons Rami Baitiéh commented on the difficult decision, saying, “The changes we are announcing today are a necessary part of our plans to renew and reinvigorate Morrisons and enable us to focus our investment into the areas that customers really value and that can play a full part in our growth.”
It is unknown if jobs are affected at these locations or if staff are being deployed elsewhere.
