It was all change on Main Street, High Blantyre today, as contractors demolished a 200 year old cottage.
The cottage located on the south side of the street near High Blantyre Cross, which had been derelict for many years. It is thought to have been built in the 1820’s, making it one of Blantyre’s oldest properties. Dereliction and nature had however taken over in recent years and the site is currently being cleared.
