Asda has a BIG birthday, turning 60! Although Asda in Blantyre is only 45 years “young”, staff in the store are celebrating too. To kick start the celebrations, Mary Sutherland, Asda’s community champion got to surprise one of the retired Asda Blantyre family, Jean Murray.
Jean worked for Asda Blantyre for an incredible 40 years and still has her notice of employment from 1980! Jean and her husband, John, recently celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary. Mary wrote on social media today, the most fitting tribute, saying, “Both of them have been so involved in our Community with John being the Captain of our Boys Brigade for over 40 years and Jean having so many charity events she has lost count but has raised thousands of pounds. We think they are Diamonds of our community and were thrilled to surprise them with flowers and a lovely certificate of thanks.”
And there’s good news for shoppers…to celebrate its 60th Birthday, Asda has launched a brand-new ‘Scan to Win’ instant win prize draw on its popular Rewards app, offering lucky customers the chance to win £6,000 in their Rewards’ Cashpot.
From Thursday 1st May until Monday 30th June, customers who spend £5 or more in-store or online and scan their Asda Rewards app can earn one entry per day to reveal a guaranteed Birthday prize.
