The ban on drinking alcohol on Scotrail trains will be lifted next month.
From 2nd June, alcohol may once again be consumed on ScotRail trains between 10am and 9pm. The carrying and consumption of booze has been prohibited on trains and in stations since the covid pandemic in November 2020.
The latest move by the Scottish Government recognises that the current rule is fairly strict and it was generally felt it could be relaxed, especially to help in certain circumstances such as passengers heading to sporting events or concerts.
Other restrictions may yet apply, as determined by ScotRail and BTP.
