What a fantastic day it was yesterday for the local Blantyre Vics Youth FC 07s! They won the league cup in style with a brilliant performance against a strong Carluke Thistle side.
First goal came after a tremendous bit of skill from Cian Kinney. Great cross into the 6 yard box to find Kames Doyle who finished with a well placed header. A few minutes later, skipper Ashton Cain won a penalty, confidently despatched by Ross Lockhart. Unfortunately that was Ashton’s last involvement in the game as he went off injured.
Into the 2nd half, Vics notched a 3rd with a well worked passing move and composed finished by POTM Kames. After that Vics managed the game well and deservedly lifted the cup.
A spokesperson for club added, “So proud of this group for the quality they’ve shown and all they’ve achieved so far. Still in the hunt for the league title, hopefully we can get that over the line to round off a fantastic season. Well done boys!”
