Today’s Topic from the papers. New research announced this week, shows people have been cutting back on fast food and eating out this summer, but turning instead to smaller supermarket treats.
Data from Worldpanel by Numerator reveals a 6% fall in visits to casual and fast-food outlets in the three months to mid-July, compared with the same period last year as ‘belts tighten’. However, shoppers are still favouring branded groceries over cheaper own-label alternatives.
Have your say. Have YOU been eating out less and perhaps spending more on tasty treats from supermarkets this year?
