Are you looking for a new hobby? The Winter months are looming – what to do? Why not come along to the Lanarkshire Philatelic Society – this grand name can be interpreted as ‘The Stamp Club’. Stamps of all countries; of sports; of nature etc are collected by enthusiastic members – also postmarks, Postcards etc – are at the heart of this hobby.
They told us, “Why not come along and meet other interested folk? You will be made most welcome – and you can enjoy a chat over a cup of tea/coffee!
Our opening meeting of the new Session is on Friday, 5th September2025 at the Caledonian Bowling Club, ML3 7BN at 7:30pm. We meet fortnightly – in September at 7:30pm: From October to February the meetings are at 1:30pm: – then March and April are back to 7:30pm.
At the opening meeting the President will present his display – and during the year we will view displays of ‘From Glasgow to Inverness by Paddle Steamer’ (Postcards); ‘Stamps of the Isle of Man’; also postcards of the Covenanters ‘Killing Time’: We go abroad to stamp displays of Germany’; ‘Classic Colombia’; and ‘Southern Africa’; In between are afternoons when members present displays on various subjects. Also members from Dundee & District Philatelic Society will visit the Club and present displays.
Rescue the stamp album from the cupboard! Rake out postcards from past years!
