Representation being disregarded

We’re receiving concerned messages from Blantyre residents saying their representation (both objection and support) is being REJECTED on South Lanarkshire’s planning portal when they’re trying to express their opinion on the proposed massive solar array in High Blantyre.

It appears the council have closed the ability to comment on the planning portal stating, “This application relates to proposed work or development where the Council is not the decision maker. As a result the Council is unable to accept representations. In the case of applications made to the Energy Consents Unit under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989, the Council is a statutory consultee and the Energy Consents Unit is the decision maker. Any representations should be made directly to the ECU using the following link: Scottish Government – Energy Consents Unit.”

Frustratingly, the there is no working link, despite the wording saying so.

So we’ve looked into this and found the Scottish Government correct location where representation needs to be submitted to. Objections and support for these 114,000 solar panels being planned for the fields of High Blantyre should be submitted here:

Some residents are receiving letters saying their representation is being removed from SLC’s planning portal and being disregarded! It is therefore important if you have an opinion on this array to ensure you submit representation at the email address or postal address in this post. Please ensure you state the planning reference number.
