Repairs to the burst water pipe that caused the recent interruption to water supplies in Blantyre have now been completed.
An update by Scottish Water has confirmed the Water service will be gradually restored to affected customers over the coming hours. Please be aware that it may take some time for water pressure to return to normal levels.
During this restoration period, you may experience discoloured water. If this occurs, they advise running your cold taps at a reduced pressure until the water runs clear. If you experience cloudy water, this is air trapped in the supply following the work and will begin to settle itself over the next 24 to 48 hours.
Scottish Water update at 7pm tonight added, “Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to fully restore your water supply. If you require immediate additional support, please call us on 0800 0778 778.”
