Here’s a simply wonderful story about a sassy Blantyre lassie making a success of things, out in the BIG world!
Eleven year old Alexandra Wilkie has starred in her very first professional film ‘Glenrothan’, directed by none other than Brian Cox! The movie is a love letter to Scotland and Alex has starred alongside Brian and Alan Cumming. Alex and her mum Kimberley flew out to Toronto International Film Festival for the red carpet premiere on Thursday 11th September and as these fantastic photos show, she’s been mixing with some BIG stars, and even given her own interviews.
Alex is pictured with her namesake and ‘on screen mother’, Alexandra Shipp. Brian Cox who directed and stars in the movie is pictured with his wife Nicole.
Alex is a pupil of Spotlight Musical Theatre who, like her family and friends, are immensely proud of her. They added, “Huge congratulations, Alex! We are beyond proud of you! And the excitement doesn’t stop here… watch this space for more exciting news!”
It’s been a huge week for Alex, as she just turned 11 a few days earlier.
As she makes her way back home to Blantyre with mum, it looks like we’ll all have to look out for this talented starlet in future! Well done Alex! You look every inch a global superstar and are ABSOLUTELY rockin’ this fame malarky!!
